The Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX) planning committee has released the agenda for the 2013 GFX, to be held in San Antonio, Texas, June 10-12. The conference schedule was created with input from fleet managers on the show’s advisory board.

This year’s conference features four categories that address the diverse needs of attendees: fleet fundamentals, management, efficiency, and maintenance. Fleet fundamentals sessions features seminars and workshops on fleet basics for those new to the profession, reflections on how the industry has changed from seasoned fleet managers, a spec’ing class, and a session about replacement cycles. Maintenance sessions explore issues relating to preventive maintenance, while management sessions will cover topics such as staff training, take-home vehicle policies, right-sourcing, and operating procedures. Finally, efficiency-focused sessions are designed to help attendees improve the effectiveness of their operations. Fleet professionals are encouraged to attend sessions across all categories.

A separate technician track allows local technicians to obtain technical training while attending certain sessions and benefiting from the show floor.

Additionally, the popular “Challenges and Solutions Workshop” is back this year, allowing fleet professionals to get together and brainstorm solutions to their most pressing fleet problems.

Frank Morgan, fleet manager at Contra Costa County, will present the opening keynote address about growing through adversity, while Jim “The Rookie” Morris will present a keynote speech on the power of dreams.

The full schedule can be found at the GFX site.
