Canoo’s electric pickup truck has a flatbed size comparable to a traditional pickup truck, making it easy to maneuver and convenient to drive. The vehicle features accessories that accommodate on-site jobs, including a pull-out bed extension, fold down work table and cargo storage, flip down side tables, side step and storage, modular bed with space dividers, and multi-accessory charge port.
Specifications include dual or rear motor configurations, up to 600 hp and 550 lb.-ft. of torque with dual motors; vehicle payload capacity of 1800 pounds; and 200+ miles of battery range. The overall dimensions are 184 inches long (213 inches with the bed extension), 78 inches wide (87 inches with mirrors), and 76 inches high (82 inches with the roof rack). The bed is 64 inches by 72 inches, and 64 inches by 102 inches with the extension. The production version of the pickup truck is now open for pre-orders, with deliveries beginning as early as 2023.
The company’s all-electric multi-purpose delivery vehicle (MPDV) will initially be offered in two variants—MPDV1 and MPDV2—and is expected to offer three battery sizes including 80, 60, and 40 kWh. The 80-kWh size features a DC Fast Charging time of 28 minutes from 20% to 80% charge. The MPDV1 will be 14.4 feet long, 6.4 feet wide, and 6.2 feet high. It will accommodate 230 cubic feet of cargo volume and 1980 pounds payload volume (with a 40-kWh battery).
The MPDV2 will be 17.1 feet long, 7.2 feet wide, and 8.4 feet high. It will accommodate 500 cubic feet of cargo volume and 1760 pounds payload volume (with a 40-kWh battery). Both variants will feature a 17 inches step-in height and a peak motor torque of 236 lb.-ft. Limited availability will begin in 2022, with scaled production and launch planned for 2023.
The eM2 is a Class 6/7 truck designed for local distribution, pickup and delivery, food and beverage delivery, and last-mile logistics applications. It will offer up to 230 miles range from a 315 kWh battery pack. The truck will be powered by the Detroit ePowertrain.
Initially, the Detroit ePowertrain will offer an eAxle design operating at 400 volts and be offered in two variants suitable for a variety of commercial vehicle applications. The single motor design is rated at 180 hp, delivering maximum torque of up to 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque, while the dual motor design offers up to 360 hp and 23,000 lb.-ft. of torque. The start of series production begins in early 2023.
Electric Last Mile Solutions
Launching in 2021, the Electric Last Mile Solutions (ELMS) Class 1 Urban Delivery van boasts 170 cu.-ft. of cargo space, 150 miles of range on a single charge, and is designed to deliver up to 35% in TCO savings. With advanced over-the-air data and telematics capabilities, fleet managers are enabled to engage in business planning and fleet tracking for optimal efficiency.
The 2021 Ford F-150 with available 3.5-liter PowerBoost V6 gives customers the ability to tow up to 12,700 pounds and haul more than 2,000 pounds with 430 hp and 570 lb.-ft. of torque. It improves productivity by replacing standalone gas-powered electric generators with Pro Power Onboard featuring standard exportable power of 2.4 kW, with 7.2 kW available. It has an EPA-estimated rating of 25 mpg on 4x2 models.
The 4x2 PowerBoost, with EPA-estimated ratings of 25 mpg city and 26 mpg highway, has an EPA-estimated range of 750 miles on a single tank of gas. The 4x4 PowerBoost F-150 has an EPA-estimated 24 mpg combined fuel economy rating. The 4x4 PowerBoost F-150 has an EPA-estimated range of 700 miles on a single tank of gas.
The 2022 Ford E-Transit offers a choice of eight configurations, including three roof heights and three lengths, plus chassis cab and cutaway models. It offers the same interior cargo dimensions and standard mounting points as the gas-powered Transit for continued integration with hundreds of racks, bins, upfits, and accessories. The van delivers an estimated driving range of 126 miles in the low-roof cargo van variant.
Available Pro Power Onboard turns the E-Transit into a mobile generator with up to 2.4 kW of available power to help customers use and recharge job site tools. The vehicle is targeting 266 hp and 317 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 2022 F-150 Lightning Pro is an all-electric F-Series truck purpose-built for commercial customers. It offers value and performance with a standard range battery and dual motor power 4x4 targeting 426 hp and a targeted EPA-estimated 230 miles of range. An extended-range version targeting 563 hp and a targeted EPA-estimated range of 300 miles is also available for commercial customers.
Ford charging systems simplify EV integration into North American fleets with available 48- and 80-amp chargers to enable overnight charging with Level 2 AC plus Ford charge management solutions for home, public, and depot, while an electric vehicle telematics dashboard and OEM-grade electric vehicle data support fleet management.
The first-ever Ford Mega Power Frunk offers 14.1 cu.-ft. of lockable, water-tight storage and the capacity to carry up to 400 pounds. It comes standard with four 120-volt AC outlets and two USB ports, with two more outlets in the cab and two in the 5.5-foot rear cargo bed, which is ready for easy upfitting with its familiar F-150 dimensions and mounting points.
Registration is now open, and when it arrives next year, it will be supported by an established network of 644 electric vehicle-certified Ford Commercial Vehicle Centers across the U.S. offering sales, service, financing, and charging solutions, as well as 2,300 EV-certified Ford dealers.
Indigo Technologies’ Bravo will be the first 4-wheel EV built on the automaker’s in-wheel electric propulsion suspension system called robotic wheels. The design features a 30-kWh pack with a range of 200 miles, and a top speed of 80 mph. Bravo has a curb weight of only 1,600 pounds, but can carry over 850 pounds of cargo and people, with a cargo volume of 106 cu.-ft. Bravo’s center driver seat and sliding doors allow safer and more efficient ingress and egress, and its removable passenger seats can increase usable cabin space for deliveries.
Zero-emission Kenworth K270E Class 6 and K370E Class 7 battery-electric vehicles are available with high-density battery packs of 141kWh and 282kWh that deliver up to 100- and 200-mile range, respectively. Built in collaboration with Dana Inc., the electric vehicles use a DC Fast-Charging system capable of fast re-charge in as quick as one-hour. Kenworth battery-electric vehicles offer two direct-drive motors rated at 355 hp and 469 hp, depending on application. This design provides enough torque to start the load from a stop on a 20% grade and the power to maintain 40 mph on a 6% grade while fully loaded.
Regenerative braking in stop-and-go city conditions recharges the batteries and extends brake life. All components necessary to run the e-powertrain, as well as HVAC and e-PTO, are located in one power cradle under the cab. The system configuration also optimizes weight distribution with batteries mounted outside and air tanks mounted inside the frame rails. A quiet e-compressor maintains pressure in the air system.
Available wheelbases offered are 206 inches (24 foot box bodies), 218 inches (26 foot box bodies) and 274 inches (30 foot box bodies).

The Lion6 is a Class 6 truck that has a cabin length of 79 inches, and cabin height of 105 inches. With a GVWR of 26,000 pounds, it can hit maximum power of 250 kW/335 hp and maximum torque of 1,800 ft.-lb. Its battery capacity can go up to 252 kWh, with a range of up to 180 miles.
The Endurance features four in-wheel hub motors that reduce the number of moving parts and improves vehicle control. This advancement leads to few maintenance costs and lower total cost of ownership. With four dedicated hub motors, the Endurance can get out of any sticky, muddy, or slippery situation. The vehicle’s battery size is 109 kWh, with a range of 250+ miles. Its horsepower peak is 600 hp.
Built on Ford’s E-450 platform, the EPIC E-450 chassis is used for a diverse set of applications including step vans, box trucks, and work trucks. It has a max GVWR of 14,500 pounds, battery capacity of 127 kWh, and a range of 105 miles. Its peak motor power rating is 295 kW/394 hp and has a peak motor torque rating of 870 ft.-lbs.
Built on Ford’s F-59 platform, the EPIC F-59 chassis available in Class 5 or 6 configurations. The EPIC F-59 is ideal for last-mile delivery step vans and specialty applications, such as bookmobiles and food trucks. It has a max GVWR of 22,000 pounds, battery capacity of 127 kWh, and a range of 105 miles. Its peak motor power rating is 230 kW / 308 hp and has a peak motor torque rating of 1,770 ft.-lbs.
The Rivian 2021 R1T has 300+ miles of range, 800 hp, and 900 ft.-lbs. of torque. The truck can wade through three feet of water, tow up to 11,000 pounds, and has 14.9 inches of ground clearance. Between the bed, front trunk, rear storage bin, under-seat compartments, center console, and gear tunnel, there are over 68 cu.-ft. of storage. In January 2022, a 400+ mile R1T will be available.
Roush CleanTech has provided Penske Truck Leasing with Ford F-650 battery electric vehicles for deployment across Southern California. The battery electric vehicles have a maximum speed of 65 mph and a 100-mile range. They also meet all Department of Transportation regulations, comply with all applicable vehicle Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Specifications (FMVSS) requirements, and adhere to the California Zero Emissions Powertrain certification program.
The demonstration units were funded in part by the South Coast Air Quality Management District, the regulatory agency focused on improving air quality for large areas of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.
The Ram 1500 features up to 12,750 pounds of towing capability and 2,300 pounds of payload. The eTorque mild hybrid system delivers improved fuel efficiency in both V6 (standard) and V8 configurations. The eTorque mild hybrid system replaces the traditional alternator on the engine with a belt-driven motor generator unit that performs several functions. The motor generator unit works with a 48-volt battery pack to enable seamless start/stop function, short-duration torque addition to the engine crankshaft in certain driving situations, and brake energy regeneration.
With the engine running, eTorque’s motor generator unit feeds 48-volt current to a 430-watt-hour lithium-ion nickel manganese cobalt (NMC)-graphite battery. The small-suitcase-sized, air-cooled battery pack mounts to the rear wall inside the Ram 1500’s cabin. In addition to spinning the engine for restarts, the eTorque unit also recaptures energy during deceleration and braking to feed charge to the battery pack.

The C-Series are step vans built with lightweight composite bodies. The C650 and C1000 are 650 cu.-ft. and 1000 cu.-ft., and both weigh approximately 13,000 pounds when fully loaded. They are powered by a modular battery pack system, which provides between 35 kWh when equipped with two battery packs and 70 kWh in its standard four pack configuration. Each have a range of 100 miles, according to the company’s website.

The truck’s lithium-ion battery pack mounts under the chassis, meaning bed space doesn’t has to be sacrificed. This configuration also maximizes flexibility to accommodate bed delete and other body design options. The XLP plug-in hybrid electric platform for the Silverado also features an inverter and electric traction motor, which propels the vehicle forward during acceleration and captures energy through regenerative braking during deceleration. As with the rest of XL Fleet’s electrification upfits, all OEM factory warranties remain intact after installation.
The fully-electric X-Platform is designed to accommodate an extensive variety of medium-duty bodies, wheelbases, and range requirements up to 200 miles. X-Pack batteries operate as standalone units that can be strung together in any combination, allowing it to suit a fleet’s unique needs as well as a wide-range of other commercial vehicle applications.
