Lordstown Motors Corp. announced on Jan. 28 it has been added to the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) listing, the first step to being able to sell the Lordstown Endurance full-size all-electric pickup truck to government fleets. Lordstown has started its outreach to state and local government entities, including the U.S. military, the company said in a statement.
The announcement comes as President Joe Biden on Monday committed to upgrading the federal fleet to electric vehicles.
In other updates, Lordstown announced it has added to its battery cell supply chain with a multi-year supplier agreement with LG Energy Solution, a global provider of battery cell technology.
The company remains on track to begin production of Endurance in September, according to the statement, and expects to complete the first Beta vehicles of the Endurance in March.
Lordstown will announce its full-year 2020 financial results and hold its first earnings call in March 2021.
