Taser's Axon Fleet in-car video system includes two cameras for the front window and rear seating area for $499. The system, which was announced at a law enforcement trade show, is available for pre-orders and will ship by April 1.

The system, which represents Taser's entry to the in-car-video segment, offers retina HD video, wireless activation, a rear-facing camera, wireless offload, no maintenance downtime, a pre-event buffer, advanced security, a mobile app, and software upgrades every 30 days.

Axon Fleet enhances connectivity by incorporating Axon Signal technology to automatically activate during critical situations.  In addition, Wi-Fi connectivity connects the system to the cloud-based Evidence.com platform that stores the video files.

Taser unveiled the system at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) annual conference in Chicago in late October.
