Grote Industries, a high-performance LED lighting technology provider for the transportation industry, announced the introduction of its new 4-inch-by-4-inch Trilliant Cube LED WhiteLight Work Lamp.

The lamp's arresting appearance is a byproduct of its stylized diamond plate reflector, cluster of six high-performance LEDs and clear, but rugged, polycarbonate lens. The lamp technology has been condensed into a deceptively small format with an effective illumination rating of 1,000 lumens.

"This new lamp profile is a strategic addition to our Trilliant LED WhiteLight Work Lamp Portfolio," Scott Robertson, product manager of forward and interior lighting at Grote Industries, said. "We're surging deeper into construction and agriculture markets by targeting this popular square-face lamp format."

The Trilliant Cube is the newest member of Grote's Trilliant LED WhiteLight Work Lamp Portfolio. The work lamp portfolio is the result of Grote's ongoing marketplace analysis and of more than 20 years of advanced electronic and optical engineering. Grote's practical, purpose-driven approach to lighting design has allowed it to create six of the most powerful and diverse LED work lamps in the industry.

"This lamp is an example of how Grote has built a reputation for designing task-based lighting solutions that focus on performance and the specific needs of the vehicle manufacturer and ultimately the vehicle's end-user," Robertson said. "Our engineering research and fieldwork constantly put us in contact with OEMs and vehicle operators and literally in the driver's seat. In essence, our research allows the marketplace to demonstrate what lighting characteristics are needed to boost operator and vehicle performance."

Robertson said it was clear the marketplace needed an LED alternative to the square halogen work lamps so commonly seen on construction and agricultural vehicles. He noted that the Trilliant Cube LED WhiteLight Work Lamp was specifically designed to fit the popular 4-inch (10 cm) square format.

Grote engineers leveraged their leadership in LED thermal management and optic design to create the formidable yet compact lamp, which is as powerful as the halogen lamps it's likely to replace, with just one third the power consumption. The lamp has a service rating in the range of 50,000 hours. The Trilliant Cube LED WhiteLight Work Lamp features two beam patterns. Grote has further refined its wide flood pattern to produce a more penetrating beam that reaches farther. Grote's TractorPlus beam pattern has gained significant attention across a number of industry sectors, including construction and agriculture, as a superior LED alternative to the common tractor beam.

Robertson said that during Grote's field interviews, the electronic interface for work lamps also emerged as an important issue. "We designed the lamp to meet this critical user need as well," he said. The lamp comes in three versions, each with a unique connector style. The female receptacle on the back of the first version of the lamp accommodates the popular AMP connector style, the second version of the lamp features an AMP Superseal connector style, while the third version supports the Deutsch two-pin sealed connector. The Trilliant Cube LED WhiteLight Work Lamp operates on both 12-Volt and 24-Volt systems. All versions of the lamp can also be ordered with either the TractorPlus beam pattern or the wide flood beam pattern and all come with stainless steel hardware and brackets.

The Trilliant Cube LED WhiteLight Work Lamp is also available in Europe and is certified to European Economic Community (EEC) Directive 72/245/EC for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). The seal integrity of the highly durable design has been rigorously tested via high-pressure, high-temperature spray and steam. The sealed lamp is in compliance with IP69K standards, under International Protection Rating guidelines.
