The first-generation Chevrolet Volt (2011-2015 model years) will soon give way to a new generation of the plug-in electric hybrid that's expected to increase the nameplate's electric range to 53 miles from 40 miles. Respondents to this year’s survey on average earn $84,694, which is 2.4% higher than last year’s reported average of $82,732.

The average fleet salary has increased to $84,694, and more fleet managers reported a salary increase this year than in the past three years. About one-third of survey respondents said they plan to retire in the next five years.
