Fleet Facilty Tour: Riverside County, Calif.

Government Fleet Magazine took a tour of one of the fleet facilities at Riverside County, Calif. The county has a fleet of 4,200 units, which are serviced at its seven maintenance facilities. Dealer Tour: Municipal Mainteance Equipment

Municipal Maintenance Equipment, a California-based company, is a dealership selling equipment that includes Schwarze sweepers, Vac Con sewer and storm drain cleaners, Go4 parking enforcement vehicles, Schwarze road patchers, Tarco material handlers, and Spaulding paving equipment. Tray Hall, territory sales manager, gave Government Fleet a tour of one of the company's facilities in Placentia, Calif., and some of the vehicles in the shop.

The 2003 Dodge Magnum Concept led to a production version of the wagon from 2004-2008, including a police version starting in 2006. It would be the last mid-size wagon sold by an American automaker.

Dodge Concept Cars

At its centennial event, Dodge showed off some of the concept vehicles developed since the late 1980s, including a Charger with a CNG-powered supercharged V-8, the re-born 2003 Magnum that later found its way into some law enforcement fleets, and the 2006 Hornet Concept that was envisioned as a European subcompact vehicle. GFX Road Show 2014: City of Oceanside

In early May, Government Fleet staff headed out to six facilities in the Southern California area to promote the Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX) in San Diego and to show GFX attendees the workings of some local fleets.

The City of Oceanside fleet employs 13 people who manage and maintain 484 units. Fleet Supervisor Jeff Hart gave GF staff a tour of the city's fleet facility.

In early May, Government Fleet staff headed out to six facilities in the Southern California area to promote the Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX) in San Diego and to show GFX attendees the workings of some local fleets.

The City of San Diego fleet consists of 4,020 units and employs 170 people. Deputy Director of Fleet Services John Clements gave GF staff a tour of the facility.
