2013 Green Fleet Conference & Expo

The 2013 Green Fleet Conference & Expo welcomed more than 600 fleet managers and industry professionals in Phoenix, Oct. 1-2. Attendees saw three keynote speakers, a 70,000 sq.-ft. exhibit hall, an alternative-fuel ride and drive, as well as many educational sessions and networking opportunities.

When the 3.7L V-6 F-150 is equipped with a CNG/LPG engine package, it is capable of achieving more than 750 miles on one tank of gas, depending on the tank size selected. The Ford F-150 averages 23 mpg on the highway.

First motorized police patrol wagonThe City of Akron, Ohio, claims to have the world&amp;rsquo;s first motorized patrol wagon. Designed by the City mechanical engineer and built in 1899 by Akron&amp;rsquo;s Collins Buggy Co., the electrically powered vehicle cost $2,400. On level ground, it could reach 18 mph and travel about 30 miles before it needed to be recharged. The vehicle was equipped with electric lights, gongs, and a stretcher.
