Brown County, S.D., will develop a plan to use a 30% ethanol blend — E-30 — in its fleet vehicles. The move would help drive the local agriculture economy and reduce costs, the Watertown Public Opinion reported.

According to the fuel provider, data from vehicles using the fuel for two years showed the same or increased fuel economy and an average savings of $3 to $5 per tank of fuel.

Someone needs to crunch the numbers. E-10, E-20 and even E-30 is not cheaper. Beside the MPG is less as you increase the Alcohol. Thus you burn more fuel travel less miles. defeating the entire goal of thinking you save money.
