The Baton Rouge (La.) Police Department’s aging fleet has led to increasing maintenance problems, and more than 200 of the agency’s vehicles are currently waiting to be repaired.

According to BRProud.com, Baton Rouge PD spent $2 million on repairs through the end of June, and expects to spend $3.5 million by the end of the year. Many of these vehicles have over 100,000 miles logged.

Because so many vehicles are out of service, officers have had to partner up and share vehicles. The agency has ordered 30 new vehicles.
