Michael Jabaay, motor shop supervisor, and James Nguyen,  motor fleet superintendent, were present to accept the award on behalf of the county.

“To be recognized by your peers is a great honor and is very humbling. When your team is passionate about what they do and strive to do their very best day in and day out, their efforts are reflective of who they are. Getting this award was a collaborative effort over many years, by the entire team. Together we make it work. Thank you for this great recognition," Roger Weaver, CAFM, CPFP, CPM, fleet management director for the county said after learning about the team's placement.

Judges Paul Condran, Craig Croner, Sam Lamerato, and Kelly Reagan, as well as staff from Government Fleet and Ford, the award sponsor, were on stage to congratulate the fleet.

Government Fleet and the  American Public Works Association also named the No. 1 fleets in size categories — the No. 1 small fleet (499 or fewer assets) is Dakota County, Minn., with 380 vehicles, and the No. 1 mid-size fleet (500-999 assets) is the City of Greenville, S.C., with 781 units. San Bernardino County is also the No. 1 large fleet (1,000 or more assets).

The rankings for the top 20 fleets (including ties) are:
