The City of Panama City, Fla., has opened its compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station for fleet and public use. The city’s solid waste division is in the process of swapping its current diesel vehicles to CNG, My Panhandle reported.
Fuel cost savings is the main incentive for the city to switch to CNG. The $2.7 million facility is expected to pay for itself in 10 years, depending on how fuel costs fluctuate during that period, according to the Panama City News Herald.
