The City of Petersburg (Va.) is getting fleet maintenance help from Prince George County to get police vehicles on the road quicker. More than two dozen cars were sitting idle when the county offered fleet maintenance for no labor cost, according to WTVR. The city will pay for vehicle parts.

The city has reached an agreement with two private shops to help with repairs.

The acting city manager said cars were sitting idle because of delinquencies with local mechanics and the cancellation of a city contract with the company maintaining its cars, WRIC reported.
