The Gwinnett County (Ga.) Police Department has added a drone to its department, which will be used to investigate traffic collisions, large crime scenes, tactical situations, and disasters, the PD tweeted.

Two officers are certified to fly the drone, and they’re now using it to fly over scenes of serious traffic collisions and take pictures and video, the WSB Radio reported. Previously, the PD had to call in a Fire Department ladder truck to take aerial photos.

The agency is among the first police departments in the area to get approval to use the device from the Federal Aviation Administration.

The drone is a DJI Inspire 1, which costs between $1,000 and $4,000, according to the PD.
