Chevin Fleet Solutions has signed an agreement to provide its web-based enterprise fleet management software to City of Ocala, Fla., the company has announced.

The fleet management software company recently kicked off implementation of the project, which will support the strategic fleet management goals of City of Ocala, Florida and help its fleet management department to deliver ongoing cost savings.

The City of Ocala maintains a diverse municipal fleet of approximately 1,000 pieces of equipment, fire apparatus, waste management and support vehicles, which will be managed using FleetWave.

Once deployed, the uniquely configured FleetWave system will allow the City of Ocala's fleet management team to realize greater control over its operations by automating workshop repair and maintenance scheduling.

The system will also help City of Ocala gain enhanced integration with its fuelling systems and streamline monthly billing processes, according to Chevin.

City of Ocala had previously used an inflexible facilities management system to manage the fleet. However, it decided to implement FleetWave in order to more effectively capture and centrally store complete fleet related data. The system will also support remote access for City of Ocala's departmental customers across the City.

"FleetWave's uniquely configurable architecture will support the City of Ocala's complex equipment management requirements, while allowing the fleet management team to improve preventive maintenance and compliance oversight," said Ron Katz, Chevin's SVP of North American sales. "We're excited to have the City of Ocala join our global client base and look forward to delivering fantastic results over the coming months and years."
