The Lake City (Fla.) Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with the burglary at the city’s fleet maintenance facility.

On Jan. 27, Billy Tomlinson Jr. allegedly entered the fenced-in facility and took personal property of Public Works employees located in vehicles. The Police Department posted video surveillance footage to its Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as enhanced images, requesting help from the public to identify the burglar.

The combined social media reach was more than 38,000 people. More than 20 separate people positively identified the suspect, who was on active probation for burglary and trafficking in stolen property.

Officers arrested Tomlinson on Feb. 13 and charged him with burglary, theft, trespassing on government property, and violation of probation.
