The City of Sierra Vista, Calif., has divided its large Public Works Department into two departments in a restructure that moves the Fleet Services unit to report to the newly created Transportation and Environmental Services Department.

The move, which came following the retirement of veteran Public Works Director Scott Dooley, is designed to increase oversight and improve communication, reports the Sierra Vista Herald.

The city has appointed Richard Cayer as head of the new department that also includes Vista Transit, refuse services, the airport, and sewer maintenance.
