VIDEO: Knowledge Sharing Series: Tews of Milwaukee, Wis.

In Government Fleet's Knowledge Sharing video series, Jeff Tews CPFP, fleet operations manager for City of Milwaukee, Wis., discusses what new fleet managers need to know before making significant changes to the operation, tips for technicians looking to move ahead, and building and keeping up credibility.

Tews started in fleet in 1978 and steadily worked through the ranks to the fleet manager position. Some of his accomplishments include redesigning the pay plan for technicians based on ASE certifications, reducing fuel costs by adding CNG vehicles into the fleet, and implementing a cost-effective city-owned custom AVL system for vehicles. He manages more than 4,100 vehicles and pieces of equipment with a staff of more than 100 technicians and support personnel at five shops.
