Lytx, Inc., a provider of video-based driver safety solutions, is bringing together top transportation, fleet, and safety leaders from industry to academia to address improving road safety at its third annual Lytx DriveCam Users’ Group Conference. The event is taking place Feb. 23-25 on Coronado Island in San Diego, and is an assembly of the transportation industry’s foremost experts in driver and fleet safety. Participants include key industry associations such as the American Trucking Associations (ATA) and representatives from transportation sectors in government, utilities, transit and motorcoach services, trucking, distribution, and waste services. They will share insights and expertise in the quest to make our roads safer and save lives.

Lytx Chairman and CEO Brandon Nixon will open the conference with a keynote discussion that explores the true “Power of Prediction,” transforming us from passive recipients of information into active change-agents and the positive impact we can drive in our organizations and our communities. His session explores the trends and technology that have enabled Lytx to develop innovative, predictive analytics that help clients prevent road incidents, save money and save lives.

“The global team at Lytx is driven by the desire to improve the safety of our roads for all drivers, and that begins with innovation and education,” said Nixon. “The leaders who attend our user conference create a ripple-effect in our industry as they take shared best practices about safety trends and technology and integrate into their organizations. We are honored and excited to provide this opportunity to our valued clients.”

Following the success of last year’s event, this year’s conference includes topical educational sessions and workshops. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from both Lytx and industry experts about future plans, trends, and best practices, engage with their peers to exchange ideas and benchmark successes, and provide valuable feedback to help shape the technology and services they receive from Lytx.

Some of this year’s conference’s highlights include:

  • “Safety Culture and Organization Success” keynote by Professor Nicholas J. Ward of Montana State University, exploring the various factors, perspectives and perceptions that influence individual decision-making and fleet safety;

  • “New Congress: What is the Future and Impact for Us?” presentation by Rob Abbott, vice president of safety policy for the American Trucking Associations (ATA), discussing the impact the transportation industry can expect from the new Congress

  • “Human Factors: How Are They Changing How We Look at Safety?” presentation by Rick Pollock, president and founder of CLMI Safety Training, examining a leading accident investigation model and its four levels of active errors and latent failures;

  • Breakout sessions covering topics such as “Making Sense of Active Safety & Other Sensors,” “Effective Use of Video and Data in the Courtroom,” “Driver Incentives and Positive Reinforcement,” and more

  • The second annual “Driver of the Year” and “Coach of the Year” Awards dinner honoring the best drivers and coaches among the hundreds of organizations currently using the Lytx DriveCam Program to improve overall fleet performance.

“The Lytx DriveCam Program is continually enhanced by the partnership we have with our clients and the input they provide,” said Nixon. “We succeed only when our clients succeed and this annual conference is a great way for Lytx and our clients to come together as an aligned community to build on our shared commitment to saving lives by preventing collisions.”
