The Odessa (Texas) Police Department is requesting a $2.6 million take-home patrol vehicle program in its draft budget, reports the Odessa American. It includes a request for 60 new Chevrolet Tahoe PPVs for patrol use.

Currently, each patrol vehicle is shared among four shifts, and expanding the fleet to allow take-home use will let the agency keep its vehicles longer. Every division at the Police Department has take-home vehicles except for patrol, reports Permian Basin 360.
