Three government fleets have signed up for a Wisconsin State Energy Office program that encourages alternative fuel usage by setting up a network of early adopters and a recognition program.

The City of Oshkosh, Winnebago County, and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh have joined Wisconsin Smart Fleet, reports the Post Crescent.

Program organizers will conduct site visits to evaluate 29 vehicle fleets across the state to recommend ways to reduce gasoline and diesel fuel consumption. The program is a joint effort between the energy office and Wisconsis Clean Cities.
