Sixteen Ocean County, N.J., fleet employees share a winning lottery ticket, one of three winning tickets for the $448 million Powerball jackpot. However, they still came into work the day after, on Aug. 8, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

Jim Pine, director of the Vehicle Maintenance Department, told the newspaper he couldn’t be happier for the winners. “They’re a group of wonderful, hardworking people,” he said.

If taken in a lump sum, each winning ticket is worth $86 million before taxes.

NJ.com reports that the 16 employees work at various positions within the vehicle maintenance department. Some are a few years from retirement while others are in their 20s and 30s. They are keeping a low profile until they validate their ticket with the Lottery Commission this week.
