The City of Fargo, N.D. has received a $50,000 grant from the North Dakota State Energy Program to study the feasibility of using compressed natural gas (CNG) to operate City vehicles.

The City stated that its Renewable Energy and Conservation committee has been working with the N.D. Department of Commerce and select cities across the country that have already been using CNG.

The N.D. State Energy Program works with the U.S. Department of Energy to issue funding for projects designed to reduce dependence on foreign oil, better use resources, and reduce costs and emissions.
