Sedgwick County (Kan.) has charged three men with theft of firearms and other items from Sheriff’s vehicles parked in the fleet maintenance compound, according to the Wichita Eagle.

According to the County’s Crimestoppers case file, three men entered the Sedgwick County Fleet Maintenance parking compound on June 29 and took items from three Sheriff’s vehicles. One marked patrol unit had a window broken out and a Bushmaster M4 rifle and a Remington 870 shotgun taken. One transport van had a window broken out and a Remington 870 shotgun, a Sheriff coat, and a GPS unit were taken. Last, a Sheriff Command vehicle was entered and a laptop computer, fire extinguisher, and two flashlights were taken. Loss and damage was valued at several thousand dollars.
