JACKSONVILLE, FL – The North Florida Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) is offering a total of $732,464 to regional municipalities that want to convert their fleet vehicles to compressed natural gas (CNG).

The TPO said it's working with the Florida Department of Transportation to be able to offer these additional Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds.

The 18-month fleet conversion initiative will support conversions and upgrades of new municipal fleet vehicles. TPO said it selected CNG because of the fuel type’s applicability to vehicles in municipal fleets.
