SHREVEPORT, LA - The Shreveport (La.) Police Department began equipping the first group of its 60 new Chevrolet Caprice patrol cars for patrol duty, according to news website KTBS. The vehicles will all be delivered by the end of the year.

In addition to the new patrol cars, the Shreveport P.D. also purchased four crime scene investigation vans and 20 unmarked detective cars. The vehicles are arriving nine at a time, reports KTBS.

The department bought the new patrol cars with $3 million of funds from the administration division.
