CHARLESTON, WV – West Virginia’s Governor Earl Ray Tomblin announced Charleston will host the 2013 Appalachian Basin Natural Gas Vehicle Expo and Conference at the Charleston Civic Center May 13-15, 2013.

“West Virginia is blessed with an abundance of natural gas, and our state has the opportunity to showcase our commitment to using this resource at the 2013 Appalachian Basin Natural Gas Vehicle Expo and Conference in 2013,” Gov. Tomblin said. “I will invite 12 governors, who share in my commitment to operate state vehicle fleets on natural gas, to join us for this event. The Expo will provide the opportunity for cities, counties and private businesses from throughout the country to learn more about using this natural resource as a fueling option for their fleets.”

Tomblin has created a natural gas vehicle task force to evaluate implementing these types of vehicles in West Virginia’s fleet. He also signed a memorandum of understanding with 12 other governors in support of developing natural gas as a transportation fuel for use by state-owned vehicles.
