OLYMPIA, WA – A group of fire departments in Thurston County, Wash., are pooling their maintenance resources in order to cut costs and improve staff morale, according to an article in the Bellingham Herald.

The article stated that the Olympia Fire Department, the Tumwater Fire Department, the Lacey Fire Department, and the North Olympia Fire Department are all coordinating fire fleet maintenance at a new facility in Lacey. The three technicians at this facility maintain 100 vehicles for all four departments and emergency response provider Medic One.
