TALLAHASSEE, FL – An employee with the City of Tallahassee, Fla., has invented a new technology the City is calling the “Less Idle Time” (LIT) package, which reduces fuel costs and emissions, according to an article on Tallahassee.com.

City technician Jon Cook invented the device, which uses a battery pack that’s customized to fit inside the trunk of a patrol car and a dashboard control an officer can use to engage the system. The video above explains how the system works and the benefits it provides.
