OMAHA, NE – Douglas County, Neb., is beginning a pilot program where it plans to test how vehicles that run on compressed natural gas perform in its fleet. The County is purchasing two vehicles, each of which will replace existing fleet vehicles. The County Commission approved $60,000 for the purchase of the two vehicles.

The County said that if the pilot is successful, it could result in the purchase of additional CNG vehicles and the installation of a CNG fueling station at the County garage.
