MIAMI – The Miami Dade Police Department is limiting take-home vehicles to officers within Miami-Dade and Broward Counties beginning in January, according to the Miami Herald. This will affect about 17 officers of an estimated 2,633 with take-home vehicles in the department. Recently, the police union agreed to add a $50 biweekly charge for the maintenance of take-home vehicles.
