The City of Peachtree City, Ga. is conducting a one-year pilot program where it will lease vehicles and outsource some of the City’s fleet maintenance staff’s work, according to an article on TheCitizen.com.

The goal of the program isn’t to do away with fleet maintenance but rather lighten their workload so they can concentrate more on vehicles used for public safety and other essential equipment, according to City officials quoted in the article. The pilot program will include leasing six trucks and a new vehicle for the City manager.
