QUEENS, NY – On Wednesday, August 17, a 16-ton New York City Sanitation Department salt truck crashed through the second story of a repair garage (which was the third story of the building). The story was reported via multiple sources, including the New York City Fire Department’s (FDNY) Twitter official account.
The truck dangled there precariously until the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) was able to rescue the driver and remove it from the building using a crane. The FDNY posted pictures of the truck dangling from the building on its Twitter account as well as an image from the rescue process.
