WASHINGTON - Nearly one third of District of Columbia support ambulances are out of service for repairs due to fleet age, according to the Washington Examiner.

Last week, seven of the 25 basic life support units were out of service, D.C. fire and emergency medical services labor union chief told the paper. Most of the units are out because problems with the air conditioner in the patient compartment, which prohibits vehicle use. The units are expected to replaced or back in service by June 7.
