PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh City Council voted to purchase only 26 vehicles rather than the 55 vehicles that the City’s Equipment Leasing Authority previously recommended buying, according to a story in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Although the Equipment Leasing Authority originally wanted to spend $5M to replace City assets, the purchase of 26 pieces of equipment will cost $2.1M. This purchase includes 19 vehicles for the police department although the Authority had recommended a purchase of 28.
