June 29, 2011

WILKES-BARRE, PA – Luzerne County’s Commissioner Chairwoman Maryanne Petrilla said enforcement of a policy that mandates that all County vehicles and equipment be clearly marked with the County seal, a municipal license plate number, and a number and label for identification, according to an article in the Times Leader.

The article cited specific incidents where County officials used vehicles that were not marked. In some cases, though, having unmarked vehicles may be necessary, for example for use by law enforcement, so the County plans to review which of its 160 vehicles must be marked.
