SACRAMENTO, CA - Stephen Barker, previously equipment maintenance supervisor for the City of Sacramento, Calif., was promoted to operations general supervisor, replacing Jonathon Yee, on March 26.

Barker manages three City Fleet heavy-duty facilities: North Area Corporation Yard, South Area Corporation Yard, and Meadowview Service Center. He is responsible for approximately 1,500 vehicles and equipment consisting of various types of garbage trucks, Fire apparatus, Medic units, numerous types of construction equipment, pick-up trucks, etc., and 55 employees. Barker will be the Fleet representative for the City's Solid Waste, Fire, Utilities, and Department of Transportation and will continue to work in a leadership capacity with Zonar implementation and assist with the NAPA IBS implementation teams.

Barker began his career with the City of Sacramento in February 1991 as a heavy-duty equipment mechanic. He became equipment maintenance supervisor in 2006.
