FRISCO, CO – Summit County in Frisco, Colorado is outsourcing its fleet maintenance to a private company called First Vehicle Services. Reported in the Summit Daily News, this shift to outsourcing was prompted by a 20-percent shortfall in sales tax revenues as well as an anticipated shortfall in property taxes in 2012. These changes are in addition to moving the motor vehicle office to the Summit County Courthouse in Breckinridge, Colo.

The Summit Daily News said First Vehicle Services plans to re-hire the 11 mechanics that have been laid off by this change pending a review by company. The county laid off three managers involved in fleet maintenance.
