MOLINE, IL - Jan Patterson, municipal services administrative assistant for the City of Moline Public Works Department, retired Dec. 30, 2010, after 30 years of service with the City.

In her position, Patterson interacted with the public on behalf of the department, fielding and troubleshooting calls from residents about municipal services. She assisted the sanitation and road crews in responding to their questions and needs, processed bills for the fleet department, monitored fuel island transactions, and created work orders for several departments, according to Quad-Cities online.

Patterson split her time between fleet and other departments until 2007, when she began working primarily for the fleet department. When she began working for fleet, Fleet Manager J.D. Schulte suggested she get her commercial driver's license (CDL) to help mechanics when needed by shuttling heavy-duty vehicles, according to the newspaper. She told the newspaper she now helps other employees prepare for their CDL tests.

"She's been a great employee and had a great run," Schulte said of Patterson.
