What Political Figures Drive

October 14, 2010

REDMOND, VA - As budgets tightened, government officials' vehicles were scrutinized. Officials gave up gas-guzzlers, agencies bought alt-fuel cars, and take-home vehicles were and continued to be slashed. However, the personal vehicles of political figures also make a statement, and the safest vehicles tend to be domestic and fuel-efficient.

BLTWY presents a slideshow and commentary of national and international political figures and their vehicles, which can be seen here. The results are:

  • Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Chris Dodd, and President Obama: Ford Escape Hybrid
  • UK Prime Minister David Cameron: bicycle
  • Sarah Palin: Volkswagen Jetta
  • Meghan McCain: Toyota Prius
  • Arnold Schwarzenegger: Hummer
  • John McCain: Cadillac CTS
  • Cindy McCain: Lexus and others
  • Karl Rove: Jaguar
  • Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi: Audi
  • U.S. Senator Scott Brown: GMC Canyon pickup
  • Prince Harry of Wales: Audi
  • Ross Perot: Oldsmobile
