ODESSA, TEXAS - The City of Odessa signed a contract to deploy AssetWorks' FleetFocus comprehensive maintenance management software, according to a release from AssetWorks.

Doug Hildebrand, director of Equipment Services for the city, said city and fleet growth led Equipment Services to outgrow its previous reporting and maintenance scheduling system. The city wanted to obtain detailed fleet information in real time. FleetFocus provides reporting, key performance indicator and analytics functionality that tracks all functions related to the maintenance of vehicle equipment, operating expenses, and billing for equipment usage, according to the company.

Additionally, Odessa Fleet Services will be implementing AssetWorks Vehicle Data Solution, including Vehicle Data Collectors installed on vehicles, with Radio Frequency receivers stationed at key locations to obtain wireless odometer readings and engine fault codes. Data collected automatically reduces error from human input and improves accuracy. The information is updated in real-time, automatically resetting PM schedules and initiating automated work requests derived from engine trouble codes.

City of Odessa Equipment Services provides internal services for more than 750 vehicles and equipment. Equipment Services has 24 employees, including 11 technicians who work out of three shops in the area, according to the release.
