BOSTON - On September 10, Boston Public Works Commissioner Joanne Massaro appointed Jim McGonagle director of Central Fleet Maintenance. The new director is charged with reforming and re-engineering the operations of Central Fleet Maintenance, according to a release from the city.

McGonagle was formerly fleet floor leader and chief equipment mechanic for the Groton, Conn., for the last 10 years.

"I am very pleased to announce Mr. McGonagle as the director of Central Fleet Maintenance," said Commissioner Massaro. "Mr. McGonagle has a proven track record and his unique skill sets make him the perfect fit to lead our Central Fleet Maintenance (CFM) program based on the recommendations given in [a recent] report. I am confident that with his strong background in the field and with his energy for the task at hand, Mr. McGonagle will successfully lead the turnaround effort."
