MARTINEZ, CA - Rick Ranger, an employee of the Contra Costa County Fleet Management Division of the General Services Department since 1980, has been officially appointed as fleet manager. For the past year, he has served as the acting fleet supervisor overseeing the daily operations of the Fleet Division.

Prior to this role, Ranger held the position fleet equipment specialist for 19 years with overall responsibility for record maintenance of county vehicles, acceptance, and inspection of all new equipment, DMV registration, and licensing, and disposal of vehicles/equipment. He has also assisted in the development of vehicle replacement plans, acquisition, and an online scheduling program for vehicle maintenance.

"Rick is qualified and prepared to manage the County's fleet service and support operations," said Mike Lango, director of General Services for Contra Costa County. "He is an asset to the General Services Department management team and will play a key role in advancing our goal of providing the best possible fleet services and support to county departments."
