CHATTANOOGA, TN - City of Chattanooga employees will no longer be charged for take-home cars and police officers will not have to pay to use city cars on second jobs, the City Council agreed Sept. 16, according to Chattanoogan.com.

Mayor Ron Littlefield will cancel a recent executive order that would have imposed the charges, with the $400,000 needed to keep take-home cars free of charge balanced out by $450,000 in projected savings from money brought in by red light and traffic cameras, reported the Web site.

City officials said the charge for use of take-home cars on second jobs would only bring in around $50,000 and would be a morale blow to officers, according to Chattanoogan.com.
