SALEM, OR – Donald Thomson, fleet/warehouse superintendent for the City of Salem, recently earned the Certified Automotive Fleet Manager designation, the fleet management industry's highest level of certification, from the NAFA Fleet Management Association.

Thomson has 24 years of fleet experience and is responsible for providing and maintaining all fleet equipment used by city departments. He also is responsible for the operation of the central stores warehouse.

Thomson is the chairman of the Oregon Public Fleet Managers Group, was part of NAFA's nominating committee in 2005, and is a member of NAFA's Pacific Northwest chapter.

Thomson has been a member of the NAFA Fleet Management Association since 1994.
