SAN PEDRO, CA – The world’s most powerful short-range heavy-duty electric truck was recently officially introduced at the Port of Los Angeles.

A jointly funded demonstration project between the Port and the South Coast Air Quality Management District, the truck was developed to explore the feasibility of using an electric-powered vehicle to move cargo containers weighing up to 60,000 pounds to major rail facilities, warehouses, and distribution centers within close proximity of the Port.

Guest speakers included Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa; Los Angeles Harbor; Commissioner S. David Freeman; SCAQMD Board Member Miguel Pulido; and Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Geraldine Knatz.
