CLEVELAND, TN – Eleven new vehicles are being added to the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office fleet, according to the Cleveland Daily Banner. Bradley County Sheriff Tim Gobble said the new Ford Interceptors will replace cars currently in the fleet, which have 200,000-plus miles on them.

The dark blue Interceptors have been outfitted with a new badge, the sheriff’s office Web address, and state-of-the-art equipment. They are also equipped with highly reflective lettering and an American flag decal in honor of veterans and those in active duty. Mobile Data Terminals will allow patrol deputies to file paperless reports and communicate without tying up the sheriff’s office radio frequencies. Other capabilities are also utilized in the computer systems which have been installed in the vehicles.

Video and audio recording systems were also installed in the new Interceptors.

Vehicles were purchased through the bid process and the color was a stock color provided at no extra charge to the sheriff’s office. The vehicles cost around $21,000, with approximately $13,000 in safety and communications equipment added.

Maintenance personnel at the Bradley County Judicial Complex were responsible for installation of the new equipment to the vehicles.
