Biodiesel a No-Go in Waste Fleet

September 12, 2007

SCOTTSBORO, AL – The Jackson County Commission has voted to discontinue its trial use of an alternative fuel in three trash collection trucks, according to The Daily Sentinel newspaper.

The decision came at the request of Solid Waste Director Randy Webster, who asked the commission to discontinue the trial with the understanding that it could be picked up at a later date.

The study has not proven to be cost effective, according to Webster.
