BISMARCK, ND – North Dakota State Fleet Services Director Paul Hanson said that for the first time all cars purchased for the fleet will have to get at least 29 miles-a-gallon, based on highway mileage, according to the Web site www.kxmc.com.

Hanson said the state also is looking into flex-fuel vehicles and hybrids. He said the state buys 150,000 gallons of gasoline each month.
