July 25, 2007

LAS VEGAS – On Sept. 20, from 8 a.m.–5:00 p.m., the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute (AFVi) is holding a one-day forum called, “Biofuels Drive Economic Solutions.” Presented by AFVi in conjunction with the Las Vegas Regional Clean Cities Coalition (LVRCCC), the supporting sponsors include the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council (EPIC) and the National Biodiesel Board (NBB). The forum will be held at The Orleans in Las Vegas.

Experts from around the country will be on hand to update attendees on the state of the industry, government funding, and incentives. The day concludes with a discussion between fleet managers who have extensive experience using the fuels. Among the estimated two dozen speakers, early confirmations include:
  • Chris Cassidy, United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development.
  • Frank Giordano, Clark County School District.
  • Dan Hyde, City of Las Vegas Fleet and Transportation Services.
  • Joe Jobe, NBB.
  • Richard Nelson, NBB.
  • Gary Weinberg, Biodiesel Industries.
  • Robert White, EPIC.

The registration fee is $149 before Aug. 17 and $199 after that. The fee includes access to Forum materials, a continental breakfast, and lunch. To register for the Forum or for more information, go to http://www.afvi.org/forums.html.
