TOLEDO, OH – Toledo police sold 99 vehicles at auction yesterday, including three snowmobiles, for a total of $95,215, according to the Toledo Blade. The second auction of the year was held at the police impound lot and attracted 286 registered bidders.

The auction of 96 abandoned vehicles fetched $89,115. The vehicle with the highest bid ($10,000) was a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. Police also auctioned three forfeited vehicles for $5,650 and a forfeited set of rims and tires from a Cadillac for $450. That money goes to the law enforcement trust fund.

One of the snowmobiles, a 1989 Bombardier Ski-Doo, went for $50, and the oldest vehicle at auction was a 1967 Chevrolet Impala, which sold for $650.

After deducting the auctioneer’s commission and other expenses, the auction will contribute about $85,000 to the city’s general operating fund, according to the Toledo Blade. The next auction will be in late June or early July.
